The Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash near Selma. The wreck was reported just before Noon on Monday in the 6700 block of Buffalo Road near the intersection of Live Oak Church Road.
Initial reports indicate a state trooper was traveling on Buffalo Road near Sullivan Road and witnessed an approaching car pass several other vehicles in a no passing zone while operating in a reckless manner.
The trooper turned around on the vehicle to attempt to make a traffic stop but found the vehicle had already wrecked in a curve.
The driver of the vehicle was killed. A passenger was seriously injured.
Authorities said the trooper was not chasing the vehicle when it crashed. The names of those involved was not immediately released. Photos by John Payne
