Johnston County Public School officials have announced that 1,076 teachers were absent on Wednesday, May 16th for the Teachers Rally at the NC General Assembly in Raleigh. Johnston County Schools were closed for the day. It was an optional teacher workday. Officials did not have the number of teachers who took advantage of the workday.
