13 Year-Old Arrives At School Under The Influence Of Marijuana

A 13 year-old middle school student is facing charges after they allegedly arrived at school on Monday under the influence of marijuana.

The incident happened at Riverwood Middle School near Clayton.

The student reportedly arrived for school late. Officials became concerned after the child was unable to stand.

Johnston County deputies arrived and located marijuana in the students possession. Officers said the juvenile appeared to be impaired on marijuana and smelled of marijuana.

A juvenile petition was obtained on the youth for misdemeanor possession of marijuana. The child was turned over to their guardian.

The 13 year-old could also face possible disciplinary action from Johnston County Schools under their code of conduct policy.
