CLAYTON – A 17-year old driver and his 15 year old passenger escaped injury this morning (Monday) when he lost control in a curve and drove into a ditch and then struck several striking trees. The car was heavily damaged in the 2:30 am accident on Byrd Road just off of Buffalo Road.
The Thanksgiving Fire Department and Johnston County EMS responded to the scene.
The State Highway Patrol investigated the accident and charged the young driver with failure to maintain lane control and a violation of his driver’s license age restriction.
