3 Arrested During Traffic Stop

A traffic stop on Keen Road near Highway 96 outside of Four Oaks Friday afternoon resulted in the seizure of 1.6 ounces of suspected marijuana allegedly found in three bags inside a vehicle.

Booker-Carter-Mugshots-FIA Johnston County Sheriff’s Office SAFE team deputy was on patrol and stopped the vehicle because one of the occupants was not wearing a seat belt, according to Captain Jeff Caldwell.  After turning on his blue lights, the deputy said it took the driver nearly a half mile before he stopped.

Upon approaching the car, the deputy said he immediately detected an odor of marijuana which lead to the discovered of the alleged narcotics.

The driver, Michael Shawn Booker Jr., 21, of Buffalo Road, Clayton, and two passengers, Unek Maurice Carter, 22, of Creekside Drive, Four Oaks, and Taylor Brooke Creech, 18, of Railroad Road, Benson were all charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, a felony. Creech was also cited for simple possession of a controlled substance. Bail for all three suspects was placed at $10,000.   (Note: mugshot for Taylor Creech was not available)
