Appliances Stolen From Newly Built Homes

SMITHFIELD — Police are investigating a series of break-ins after appliances were stolen from four newly constructed homes in West Smithfield.

The larcenies were reported between Jan. 8 and Jan. 9 at homes along Lily Patch Lane, according to authorities.

Investigators said someone entered the houses and removed multiple appliances, including washing machines, dryers and oven ranges. The stolen items were valued at more than $5,000.

Police said the homes had recently been completed and were scheduled to be listed for sale when the thefts occurred.

No suspects have been identified, and the investigation remains ongoing.
