ARCHER LODGE – The Town of Archer Lodge and the Archer Lodge Community Center (ALCC) have announced a new partnership for the Town and community. With a recent agreement between the Town and ALCC, the Town will now be managing and maintaining the ALCC baseball field and soccer field as well as the outdoor public restrooms located under their picnic shelter.
With the completion of phase one of the Archer Lodge Town Park located on Castleberry Road approaching, both organizations considered this another positive move for the Town and community. Every public ball field and multi-use field within Archer Lodge’s town limits will be maintained, managed, and scheduled by one entity, the Town.
ALCC will continue to operate, manage, and schedule the use of their buildings (the Community Center Building and the Stage on the property). Any individual or group wishing to utilize their building, will continue to contact ALCC’s Secretary, Mrs. Teresa Purvis, either by email at rentals@archerlodge.org or by phone at 919-550-1738.
The Town will now maintain, manage, and schedule the use of their baseball field and soccer field. Any individual or group wishing to utilize these fields will need to contact the Town Parks & Recreation Director, Mr. Chris Allen, either by email at chris.allen@archerlodgenc.gov or by calling Town Hall at 919-359-9727.
At the same time, the Town has entered into an agreement with the Johnston County Little League (JCLL). Baseball and softball has been a part of the Archer Lodge community for decades and is an important part of the heritage of Archer Lodge and surrounding communities. With the establishment of JCLL and the town’s baseball/softball heritage, town leaders felt it was important to make sure it could continue for years to come.
The Little League organization will continue to manage the day-to-day operations including coach selections, team selections, game schedules, and league sponsorships. The Town will manage the registration process, field maintenance, procurement of needed supplies and equipment, volunteer background checks, and scheduling of officials.
If there are questions concerning Little League, please email info@jcllb.com. For any questions concerning any programs or events with the Town of Archer Lodge Parks & Recreation, contact Mr. Chris Allen either by email at chris.allen@archerlodgenc.gov or by calling Town Hall at 919-359-9727.
Organization leaders said they are excited about the opportunities ahead for Archer Lodge. Thee newly augmented partnerships will enhance what was started numerous decades ago by the Archer Lodge Community Center and are preparing the Town for the years ahead.
Now if DOT would hurry up and start that project to fix the intersections on Covered Bridge in that area, it might actually be safe too.
New Park New crime
If we. can keep the thugs out, shouldn’t been any trouble
Interesting. Moot point, but softball has not been in AL for decades. Baseball was the only offering. Folks had to go to Wendell, Zebulon, Clayton, and GCAA IF they wanted their girls to play softball.
