Archer Lodge Welcomes New Town Clerk

ARCHER LODGE, N.C. – Sarah Bunn has been sworn in as the new town clerk for Archer Lodge.
Bunn took the oath of office during the Sept. 8 meeting of the Archer Lodge Town Council. Mayor Matt Mulhollem administered the oath while Bunn’s husband, Josh Bunn, held the Bible. The town’s website now lists Bunn as town clerk.
“You have done an outstanding job with your first meeting, and we look forward to working with you,” Mulhollem said.
Council Member Mark Jackson also welcomed Bunn to the position.
“I’m glad to have you [Sarah] here. You’ve been a very good asset for the community for years now…we are very happy to have you here,” Jackson said.
The town clerk serves as the official custodian of municipal records, provides notice of Town Council meetings, maintains meeting minutes and assists the public with records requests and other town business.
Bunn holds a master’s degree in Parks, Recreation, Tourism and Sports Management from N.C. State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from East Carolina University.
Before joining the town, she spent more than a decade working in academic sales for a major publishing company.
Town Administrator David Bone said Bunn’s previous involvement in Archer Lodge will be an asset in the position.
“The town clerk serves as the primary bridge between the community and town council. Sarah brings a strong educational and professional background, along with a passion for community service, in general, as well as a deep regard for Archer Lodge. Sarah has been active in the community for several years, and her knowledge of the community and passion will serve her well in her role. We are excited to have her join our team,” Bone said.
Bunn said she looks forward to continuing her service to the town in her new role.
“I’m honored to serve Archer Lodge as Town Clerk. This is such a special place, with neighbors who look out for one another and traditions like our monthly community meals that bring people together. I’m proud to call Archer Lodge home, and it’s truly ‘the best corner of the world.’ After years of volunteering locally, I’m excited to continue serving the town I love in this new capacity.”
