Johnston County deputies are searching for two men driving a white SUV following an armed robbery Thursday morning near Smithfield.
Several deputies responded to Johnson’s Mobile Home Park on Highway 210 around 12:35am after two residents reported they were robbed.
The victims, ages 29 and 40, were inside their home and had stepped outside to a vehicle. That’s when a white Ford Expedition with a black stripe pulled into the main driveway and stopped. Two men, possibly Hondurans, and both wearing gray polo shirts, exited the vehicle. One was armed with a gun, the other a baseball bat. They robbed the victims of their cash before fleeing. No injuries were reported.
