Bah Humbug: Decorations Vandalized On Christmas Day

CLAYTON – Police are investigating a vandalism incident on Christmas morning. A resident on Green Willows Drive in the Clayton city limits reported that sometime after 1:00am on December 25th someone cut the wires on strands of exterior Christmas lights. An African American themed inflatable Nutcracker was also damaged.

The 48 year-old victim told police they thought the vandalism was racially motivated, but authorities said there is no direct evidence supporting this.

The vandalism was not reported to police until December 30.

Total damage was estimated at $100.
