Benson Announces July 3 Independence Day Celebration And Fireworks

BENSON, N.C. — The Town of Benson and Benson Parks and Recreation will celebrate Independence Day with an evening of family fun, entertainment and fireworks on Friday, July 3.

This year’s celebration will take place at the Parker Complex, located at 502 S. Elm Street.

Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. and will feature food trucks, music, games, family activities and more.

The evening will conclude with a fireworks display scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m. Fireworks will be launched from the McLamb Tart Road area.

Officials said several locations throughout town provide good viewing opportunities for the fireworks, including the Parker Complex, the Dollar General area along U.S. 301, Benton Square near Benton Card Company, and the Railroad Street area near Cornerstone Cafe.

Residents who have viewed the fireworks from their homes during previous Independence Day celebrations should be able to enjoy this year’s display from those same locations.

Town officials encourage families to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of community celebration as Benson marks the nation’s independence with food, entertainment and one of the area’s largest fireworks displays.

  1. The town is millions in debt. Can’t keep the books balanced. Raising rates for everything. But they’re going to put on “one of the area’s largest fireworks displays.”

    Let them eat cake, indeed.
