A Benson man has been linked by sheriff’s investigators to three break-ins at two homes just days apart.
On Feb. 12th, deputies responded to break-ins in the 300 block of S. Pleasant Coates Road and the 400 block of Parrish Road near Benson. On Feb. 15th, deputies responded to the same address on Parrish Road for a second break-in. In all the cases, the homeowners reported their storage buildings were entered and items removed.
Some of the stolen property was sold to a Benson pawn shop, according to Tammy Amaon, Public Information Officer, with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
James Christian Dawson, 19, of the 500 block of S. Pleasant Coates Road, Benson is charged with three counts of breaking and entering, three counts of larceny, two counts of obtaining property by false pretenses, and two counts of possession of stolen property. As of Friday, Dawson was still in the Johnston County Jail where he was being held under a $200,000 bond.
