Best Deals On Back Friday: Books, Movies, Music

A new study by WalletHub shows that some items will be more expensive on Black Friday than at other times of the year. But there are more bargains than ever before this year, the report suggests.

Books, movies and music will offer the most value on Black Friday 2017, relative to their current prices, while jewelry, apparel and accessories tend to be the worst deals.

Kohl’s, JCPenny and Belk are considered to be among the best stores for Black Friday deals, offering an average discount of 62.8 percent.

Approximately 8 percent of items will be more expensive on Black Friday than they currently are on Amazon.com

33 percent of people plan to spend $500 or more on holiday shopping this year, down from 37 percent last year.

The survey of shoppers suggests the top three gift cards to be purchased and given as gifts this year are from iTunes, Starbucks and Walmart.

Watch out for major retailers that offer zero percent financing using a feature called deferred interest, which has the potential to make holiday purchases up to 27.5 times more expensive than expected.
