The Johnston County School Board has awarded bids for a new Cleveland area Middle School that will be built on Norris Road.
Bids were awarded this week for WIMCO Construction for $20,302.370 and NC Sound LLC for $282,575.20 for the construction.
Bids were received from several companies and opened on March 24th. Negotiations with the two companies took place before the bids were approved by the Board of Education at their monthly meeting on Tuesday.
The base bid from WIMCO was $20,070,770. HG Reynolds Company had bid $20,930,000 and Daniels & Daniels Construction Company $20,605,000.
Funding from the project will come from a school bond referendum approved by voters in November 2013. The school will be completed in time to open for the 2017-18 school term.
