Campbell’s Aaron Blockmon has accepted a second senior bowl invitation, heading to the 2019 FBS All-Americans SPIRAL Tropical Bowl, set for January 13.
Like the FCS Bowl where Blockmon starred in December, the game will be played at Municipal Stadium in Daytona Beach, Fla. Kickoff is set for 10 a.m. and will streamed on FloFootball.com.
Full rosters for the Tropical Bowl will be announced at a later date.
Blockmon grabbed one pass for 19 yards in the 2018 FCS Bowl.
Blockmon, a redshirt senior, posted 580 yards on 42 catches with three touchdowns in 2018, ranking fifth in the Big South in receptions per game, fourth in receiving yards, sixth in reception TDs and fourth in yards per catch.
Campbell’s all-time leader in receiving yards (2,647), receptions (147), reception TDs (23), total touchdowns scored (25), Blockmon snagged a career-high nine catches at Monmouth, adding 76 yards, also returning a kickoff for a touchdown at Presbyterian. Named Second Team All-Big South in 2018, Blockmon is a four-time all-conference pick (2015: honorable mention All-PFL, 2016: first team, 2017: second team).
The Sanford, N.C. native was one of seven Camels to be named to All-Big South teams.
Campbell finished 2018 at 6-5 overall and 1-4 in its inaugural Big South season. With six wins, the Camels secured back-to-back winning seasons for the first time in the program’s modern era (since 2008), and tied an overall program record for victories.
