Johnston County Commissioners approved a rezoning request at their February 6 meeting. Amrutlal Parmar of Clayton petitioned the county to rezone a 2.63 acre parcel of land he owners at 4631 NC Highway 42 West, near the intersection of Son-Lan Parkway.
The board agreed to rezone the land from Agricultural Residential (AR) to General Business (GB). The Johnston County Planning Board had previously recommended approval.
Parmar, who owns the property, does not have a clear plan for the site, but future plans would fit within the requested zoning, his representative stated during a recent planning board hearing.
Commissioners authorized the rezoning in a 7-to-0 vote.
