The body of a 52 year-old woman was pulled from a burning home overnight.
Around 10:00pm, several Harnett County fire departments responded to a house fire at 121 Lamm Avenue outside of Erwin. When they arrived on the scene they found a fire in a bedroom in the front area of the home.
Once the flames were extinguished they found Sherry Jean Harris of the same address inside.
Authorities have not said how Harris died or what sparked the fire.
The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office and Harnett County Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating.
The Erwin, Coats and Buies Creek Fire Departments responded to the scene.
