CLAYTON – Clayton police detectives are investigating a break-in reported December 31st around 10:07pm. Police responded to a burglar alarm at Foss Recycling at 440 S. Tech Park Lane.
According to the alarm company, they could see on security video cameras two unknown while males wearing masks and dark clothing attempting to open a safe with a torch.
Police arrived and established a perimeter around the business, then used a Clayton Police K-9 to search the area. Unfortunately the two suspects had already fled.
Police Chief Greg Tart said entry was made by cutting a hole in a fence and a door at the payout station to get to the safe. No money was taken.
Investigators are still working to identify the two suspects. Damage to the fence and safe was estimated at $700.
Idiots do realize that the heat from the torch would more than likely burn the money by the time they cut through or melted through the locking bars of the safe?
