Business Break-Ins Could Be Connected, Police Say

SMITHFIELD – Police are investing a business break-in discovered Friday morning.  At 1:40am, Smithfield police officers were dispatched to Cloud 9 Smoke Shop & Vape at 827 N. Brightleaf Boulevard. Officers discovered forced entry had been made through the front door and an undetermined quantity of cigarillos had been stolen.

Interior surveillance video showed four suspects with their faces concealed. They were also wearing gloves. They entered the business, grab numerous items off the shelves, then quickly fled on foot.

Police Captain R. Sheppard said the burglary could be linked to a July 15th break-in at 301 Smoke and Vape at 600 S. Brightleaf Boulevard.  Three suspects stole about $100 in tobacco products before fleeing. Their faces were also concealed.
