Car Found In Rural Farm Pond

Early Sunday morning a car was reported to have crashed into a northern Johnston County farm pond and was completely submerged.

The Antioch Fire Department rushed to the scene on Barnes Road and sent a firefighter into the chilly water to attempt a rescue, however, no one was located inside or outside the car.

The Princeton Fire Department Dive Team was also dispatched along with the NC Highway Patrol and Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.

A nearby homeowner later reported having surveillance video showing a second car at the scene and what appeared to be the first car being deliberately pushed or driven into the pond.
