KENLY – The State Highway Patrol is investigating a single car accident reported around 6:30pm Sunday outside of Kenly. The accident occurred in the 7800 block of Old Beulah Road.
A car left the roadway in a curve, ran over a fire hydrant, then drove through a ditch before tearing down a livestock fence and overturning in a field.
The 21-year old driver was able to climb out of the heavily damaged car, suffering only minor injuries. He was checked out by EMS but declined to be transported to the hospital.
The Bethany Fire Department, Johnston County EMS, and the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office also responded.
