Car Strikes Selma Mobile Home

For the second time in a week in Johnston County, a driver lost control, drove across a large yard and slammed into a house.  The first happened early-Thursday on Highway 210 near Smithfield.

Around 3:00am Sunday a woman drove off Woodruff Road, plowed through a ditch then traveled 171 feet across a soft-dirt filled yard before striking a satellite dish then a mobile home. Fortunately, the driver was uninjured and the mobile home suffered only minimal damage.

The driver claimed she swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway. She was cited for reckless driving.

The Micro Fire Department, Johnston County EMS, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and NC Highway Patrol responded to the scene.  Photos by John Payne
