PRINCETON – An early morning vehicle pursuit resulted in the seizure of a large amount of illegal narcotics and money, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed.
Around 2:45am Tuesday, August 20, a car reportedly failed to stop for officers in the 5700 block of US 70 East outside of Princeton. A short time later the fleeing vehicle crashed. Officers immediately detained the driver and passenger.
During a search of the wrecked vehicle, a large undisclosed amount of narcotics and money was allegedly found.
The driver identified by law enforcement as Eric Lamont Miller, 26, of Amelia Church Road Clayton, and passenger, Wayne Lee Howell, 33, of Ridge Road, Angier are facing 15 drug charges each. Those charges including trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in methamphetamine, and trafficking in opium or heroin.
Miller is facing additional charges stemming from the pursuit including fleeing to elude arrest, speeding, failure to stop for a stop sign and driving left of center.
Miller was held under a $185,000 secured bond. Howell was held under a $200,000 secured bond.
How many times do you have to arrest the same person for being in possession of hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and drugs before you quit letting them back out on the street? I know I have seen this Howell guy on here 3 or 4 times since 2020, with multiple trafficking charges and LARGE amounts of money each time! Quit letting these idiots back out on the streets.
Howell should not be on the street at all! Simple search of his name shows all he has been arrested for. And 98% of them are all drug related. With hardly any of them being SMALL charges. So it makes no sense why he is back on the streets.
33 mugshots. Not counting this one. Starting in 2009 to February of this year.
Howell has been arrested for TRAFFICKING drugs MULTIPLE times!!! At one point he was caught with enough fentanyl to kill 400,000 people in Harnett co. Absolutely insane he keeps being released!
