Multiple law enforcement officers responded to a Selma restaurant on Christmas Eve following an affray. It happened around 3:00am Saturdayat Denny’s on JR Road.
A large crowd entered the restaurant and within moments a fight erupted between some of the unruly patrons. One waitress sustained a cut over her eye.
Two law enforcement officers happened to be inside Denny’s on a meal break at the time of the incident. They called for assistance and then began to break up the altercation.
Selma Police, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and NC Highway Patrol responded in large numbers to the scene to bring the crowd under control. Witnesses reported at least one person was taken away in handcuffs.
