The Town of Clayton has accepted ownership of a 1.43 acre tract of land in the Riverwood Athletic Club.
The property is near the intersection of Payton Drive and Pearson Place. The land also borders Covered Bridge Road.
Clayton has been wanting additional entrances into the Riverwood Athletic Club community to improve traffic circulation and public safety. As development in Riverwood has progressed over the years, additional points of access have been added – including a new entrance to the subdivision from Covered Bridge Road, which will be constructed in 2018 during the first phase of the Walton Farms subdivision development.
Clayton town planners recently approached developers of Riverwood and asked about the 1.43 acre parcel. Developers said they had no plans for the land and would donate it to the Town for a possible future new access point into the development.
