Utility Electrical Consultants and Asplundh, a licensed tree-trimming company, will be doing work for the Town of Clayton in the Glen Laurel – Vinson Road area now through Friday, July 13th.
Crews will work from 8:00am until 4:00pm each day to trim tree branches that could be in conflict with Clayton Public Power overhead electrical lines along Birkdale Drive, Hawkesburg Drive, Torrey Pines Drive and Vinson Road. The majority of work is within the utility easements in the woods near these streets.
Limbs and branches that overhang power lines are a major cause of widespread power outages during and after wind, rain or ice storms. Flickering and dimming lights can be caused by tree limbs rubbing or laying against the power lines.
Anyone with questions about the work can contact Town of Clayton Public Information Officer Stacy Beard at 919-358-0348.
