BUIES CREEK – Freshman Campbell pitcher Cooper Clark has been selected as the first CAA Freshman of the Week for the 2024 season, the conference announced Monday afternoon.
The Clayton, N.C. native earned the win in his first collegiate action on Sunday, defeating #17 UC Santa Barbara. He pitched 5.0 innings in the series-clinching 7-3 decision.
Clark recorded six strikeouts in the outing, allowing only five hits and two earned runs.
The other weekly award winners from the CAA were outfielder Charlie Granatell from Elon (player of the week) and UNCW’s RJ Sales (pitcher of the week).
