Johnston County Commissioners approved two resolutions authorizing tax exempt loan status for the Cleveland Fire Department to refinance two existing loans with First Citizens Bank.
One loan modification up to $773,635 was for the Cleveland Fire Station #1 located at 9039 Cleveland Road at an interest rate up to 1.75 percent for a term of 57 months. A second loan modification up to $932,707 was for a 2017 Pierce ladder truck at an interest rate of 2.54 percent for a term of 128 months.
The fire department held a public hearing March 22nd and there were no citizen comments offered at the hearing. Commissioners unanimously approved the resolutions at their April 5th meeting.
