Johnston County Commissioners and members of the Johnston County Public School Board will sit down for a rare joint meeting next month.
The two boards have announced they will meet together on Thursday, February 1st at the A.G. Glenn Building at 501 South Second Street in Smithfield. The meeting begins at 6:00pm and is open to the public.
During the meeting, school leaders are expected to present growth information and the need for new school facilities in Johnston County.
“This meeting is timely since we are discussing the possibility of a November referendum,” stated Johnston County Manager Rick Hester. “We all look forward to the presentation.”
WTSB News reached out to Johnston County Schools asking for a list of renovations and new school construction requests that may be on the November bond. Officials said that information was still being complied and not yet available.
