Following last weekend’s winter storm that left about 30,000 Johnston County homes in the dark due to fallen trees, tree limbs and power lines, the County of Johnston is trying to help the public dispose of their storm debris.
Johnston County will waive all landfill tipping fees for ice-storm related construction debris and yard waste from now until March 1st. The county will also waive building and permit fees for ice-storm related damage through March 1st.
“The county is trying to help its citizens by not adding additional expenses in their recovery process,” said Johnston County Commissioner Chairman Tony Braswell. “This will enable them to move through this process quickly.”
