Dr. David Bradham has announced he will be seeking office for the Dunn City Council, representing Ward 6. Dr. Bradham was voted on by fellow council members to complete the unexpired term of the late Billy Barfield.
“It is my honor to have served the citizens of Dunn and represent Ward 6,” said Bradham. “Over the last several months, I have worked hard to make Dunn the best it can be and much still needs to be done.”
Bradham is running with the goals of: creating a vision for the City, focusing on key infrastructure and community needs and improving public safety. “A vision for Dunn is critical,” Bradham continued. “We need to create an environment that will attract new residents and encourage our best and brightest young people to return home. To address this, I am serving as a City Council representative to the Dunn Vision Group. This group includes members of the City Council, the Chamber and engaged citizens gathered together with the goals of moving Dunn in the right direction and making sure that our future is bright.”
“I am also championing the right of residents who want a neat, clean, neighborhood to live in and business corridors that give the right first impression to those visiting our City. Before we grow, we need to take care of what we already have in place. We need to revamp our plan to ensure that roads that need to be paved and potholes that need to be filled are addressed in a timely manner. Other infrastructure needs are also pressing such as pipes that are almost 100 years old.”
“As the Council representative to the Police Department, I am committed to maintaining a focus on improving public safety. I am working closely with the Police Chief to make sure that we are doing what is necessary to maintain a safe environment for our residents to live in. Whether it is creating additional substations in high crime areas, decreasing nuisance issues with loud vehicles, or keeping drugs off our streets, I will do whatever I can to make sure criminals decide to do their business somewhere else.”
