JOHNSTON COUNTY – Early Monday morning, the driver of a red pickup truck lost control of his vehicle as it was traveling northbound in the 12000 block of NC Highway 96 North.
The truck went off the road to the right then back across the roadway to the left before crossing a ditch and traveling nearly 200 feet across a yard and slamming into a brick home.

The impact shattered the home’s brick veneer, broke windows and left a gaping hole in a front bedroom. The brick wall on one side separated from the home’s framework and was moved 8 to 10 inches off the foundation.

The family was shaken but uninjured. The truck’s driver suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to Wake Medical Center.
In order to protect the home’s contents, Corinth Holders firefighters installed a temporary enclosure where a window had been.

A Johnston County Building inspector carefully checked the home and placed an unsafe placard on the front door.

The State Highway Patrol charged the driver with DWI, reckless driving, driving with an open container, and failure to maintain lane control.
Holy S….
It’s hard to image being in your house
and have this happen.
This guy should be in deep DoDo.
Big time, hopefully he has driving privileges & insurance
At least the truck looks better than it did pre-crash.
Name? Should be shamed
