A high speed chase ended with a crash in the US 70 work zone near Pine Level early Tuesday.
The car involved in the pursuit had been stolen from the parking lot of a Sheetz store in Goldsboro. When Wayne County officers got behind the car it failed to pull over. The chase continued on US 70 from Goldsboro into Johnston County.
While traveling through the US 70 work zone the driver lost control, ran off the roadway, and overturned. The driver was checked out at the scene by EMS workers before being transported by Goldsboro Police back to Wayne County where the driver will face numerous charges.
Several agencies were involved in the incident including the NC Highway Patrol, Princeton Police, Pine Level Police, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, and Goldsboro Police. Photos by John Payne
