SELMA – A driver was injured in a single vehicle crash around 7 o’clock this morning (Thursday) on Buffalo Road just north of Selma. The vehicle left the roadway in a curve and struck a pine tree. The driver was pinned for approximately 30 minutes in the heavily damaged car.
A good Samaritan nurse on her way to work at Wayne Memorial Hospital and another driver who witnessed the accident stopped and rendered aid until Selma firefighters and Johnston County EMS arrived.
The driver was transported to WakeMed. The State Highway Patrol is investigating.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office responded and assisted with traffic control.
