A 20 year-old Clayton man sustained minor injuries after being assaulted during an attempted robbery. The incident happened Saturday afternoon near the intersection of Cleveland Road and Cambridge Elm Drive.
While searching the area looking for three possible suspects, deputies located a book bag containing marijuana that had been tossed into a dumpster. A handgun was also found on the porch of a nearby residence. Both items were seized.
Sheriff’s detectives have been assigned to the case.
