Search warrants were executed in Johnston and Harnett counties Thursday. It began in Harnett County when the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office and federal ATF agents conducted a search warrant at 280 Howards Lane in Dunn. The search warrant was the result of an investigation into illegal narcotics sales, specifically Fentanyl.
The suspect, Michael Joseph Eason, age 39, of Middlesex, NC, was arrested on the scene.
As a result of the investigation and the search warrant, a total of 370 grams of Fentanyl, valued at approximately $74,000, three firearms, eight pounds of marijuana, and $1,716 of currency was allegedly seized from Howards Lane.
A search warrant was also conducted at Eason’s northern Johnston County residence, a Middlesex address, by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office where eight firearms, $4,734 of currency and 2.9 oz. of marijuana was reportedly seized. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and federal ATF assisted in this investigation.
Michael Joseph Eason was charged with 18 counts of trafficking opium/heroin, and single counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, possession of a firearm by a felon, and possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance. He was held under a $900,000 secured bond in the Harnett County Detention Center.
