Drunk Driver Arrested At EMS Station

FOUR OAKS — A Virginia man was arrested Saturday morning after deputies said he pulled his vehicle into the parking lot of a Johnston County EMS station while impaired.
Kevin Jay Bluett, 50, of Newport News, Virginia, allegedly drove his 2024 Volkswagen into a handicapped parking space at the Four Oaks EMS station on Boyette Road around 11:22 a.m., according to Johnston County sheriff’s deputies. Bluett reportedly flagged down an EMS worker, who immediately called law enforcement officers.
Deputies arriving at the scene reportedly found Bluett with an open bottle of wine in the vehicle. A Breathalyzer test later showed a blood-alcohol content of 0.21, more than twice the legal limit of 0.08.
Bluett faces charges of driving while impaired and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. He was released on a $2,000 bond.
