The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has released a composite sketch of a man wanted for a home invasion Wednesday afternoon between in the Elevation community outside of Four Oaks.
Around 1:40pm, an 87 year-old woman was at home alone when she heard her doorbell ring. The victim was not expecting anyone so she did not answer. When the suspect continued ringing the doorbell she eventually went to the front door where she encountered the suspect.
Chief Deputy Bengie Gaddis said the suspect asked to speak to a person named “Jack.” The elderly woman had difficulty hearing the man talk and when she opened the door in an attempt to hear him better, he snatched open the door and forced his way into the home.
The elderly woman was robbed of $40 and the suspect then fled.
The suspect was described as a heavy set white male in his 50’s, with salt and pepper hair, wearing a t-shirt and long pants. He fled in a shiny black passenger car.
The incident happened near the intersection of Raleigh Road and Old School Road. Anyone who has information about the suspect in the composite sketch or has information that could help sheriff’s investigators solve this crime is asked to contact the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office at 919-989-5000. Callers with information can remain anonymous. Deputies want to apprehend the suspect before he has a change to commit another crime.
