SMITHFIELD – Smithfield Police arrested two woman after they allegedly shoplifted clothing items from two retail stores on Outlet Center Drive.
Dayzha Jeanne Sanders, 27, of Bryant Pond Road, Dunn and Kaywanda Lyain Basker, 33, of English Court, Coats were arrested around 3:41pm Saturday, March 2.
Police said they received a call from an employee at one of the stores who allegedly saw the women place clothing items inside a bag, then exit without paying.
Sanders and Basker are accused of stealing approximately 50 clothing items, valued at $1,681, from GAP Factory Outlet and American Eagle.
Police located the two suspects in a nearby business and took them into custody.
Police said they located a retail magnet and two small cutting tools the suspects allegedly used to remove anti-theft devices from some of the merchandise.
Sanders and Basker were arrested and charged with felony larceny by removing an anti-theft device and felony conspiracy. Both suspects were held on $40,000 bonds at the Johnston County Detention Center.
The stolen items were returned to the businesses.
