KENLY – A Kenly-area home was gutted by flames Friday afternoon. The Bethany, Micro and Kenly Fire Departments responded to a fire at 1209-C Abednego Road.
A passing motorist called 911 after spotting flames that were already though the roof. It took firefighters 30 minutes to bring the blaze under control.
No one was at the home at the time and there were no injuries.
The Red Cross responded to provide assistance to one adult and one child who had been staying at the address.
The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office determined that the fire originated in the living room area, however the cause has not yet been determined.
