Fire Destroys Newton Grove Home
A home burned to the ground Monday afternoon. The fire was reported around 5:30pm in the 600 block of Main Street in Newton Grove.

Fire departments from Sampson and Johnston counties responded to the scene. The home could not be saved. Unconfirmed reports indicate the home was vacant.
Flames were so intensive it melted the vinyl siding on a nearby mobile home.
No injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
