SMITHFIELD – The family of Freddy Seras has established a GoFundMe account to help pay for his funeral. Freddy was one of four SSS students who were killed in a car accident early Monday morning on Interstate 95 at Brogden Road.
The fundraiser was established by Nimcy Chavez.
We are all devastated by Freddy’s loss and were not prepared for the high cost of a funeral service. We want to give Freddy the memorial he deserves, to honor his memory and say our last goodbyes.
All donations will be given to my mother Zenaida Chavez to cover funeral costs and any other expenses she might come across.
Any donation will be gratefully appreciated, thank you so much.
A Remembrance Vigil is planned for Wednesday, Jan. 24th at 6:00pm at the football field at Smithfield Selma High for 5 students who have died this school year, including the four teens who lost their lives Monday.
Sadly, this same boy was in a near fatal crash a few years back and was ejected from the vehicle. Was in critical care with life-threatening injuries. To have escaped death, only to die in essentially the same manner – just horrible.
Before donating any $$$ I’d want to know exatly what these boys were doing at 2:30am driving 100MPH.
And then what will you do if it doesn’t meet your approval? I guess the death of a child isn’t enough punishment in the eyes of the holiest of thou of public opinions. Just let it be, and hopefully it will be a beacon to others.
@DoesntMatter: First, why are you (and others) so afraid of finding out truth about what the boys were doing? What are they trying to hide? Secondly, why do you think the death was a “punishment” for the parents? What evil things do you think they did?!?!?
Nobody wants your da** money They where out joyriding They don’t do drugs or nothing like that if that’s what your getting at. I know them and their families. So I would advise you to keep those slick comments to yourself
This boy was not driving so that should have zero bearing on donations. Shame on you. There are many so called Christians in this county (not calling you out specifically since you didn’t state you were or were not ) that do not follow the teaching of Jesus – give to those in need. Every single person alive is a sinner….
Ummm what does Christianity have to do with any post here? Seems to me like you are attacking a faith without justification. Perhaps you could name some of these “fake Christian’s” or are you just making a generalization to rationalize your faith?
