Over $9,000 worth of horse saddles and riding equipment were stolen from a storage facility in Smithfield last week.
A Selma woman said she had placed the items in a unit at Carolina Self Storage at 1330 North Brightleaf Boulevard. She last checked on the items on Jan. 29th. When she went on Feb. 6th to the unit, she told police she discovered a different lock on the door. When she cut the lock off the door she discovered the majority of items inside were missing.
Among those items were two customer leather horse saddles valued at $2,700 and $3,700 plus other riding accessories.
Smithfield Police are investigating the theft.
