JCC Welcomes New Communications & Marketing Director

Carrie Pitts-Densmore has been named the Senior Director of Communications and Marketing at Johnston Community College in Smithfield. She comes to JCC with more than 20 years of experience in communications and media relations. She has also spent more than a decade in the digital marketing space.

Carrie Pitts-Densmore has been named Senior Director of Communications and Marketing at JCC.

Pitts-Densmore is a former television news producer who worked in Myrtle Beach, SC, Buffalo, NY and Raleigh, NC. She launched her own digital media business in 2013, which allowed her to strike up long-term contracts with large corporations, small businesses, and non-profits. She was the Media Communications Specialist for Urban Ministries of Wake County for almost two years prior to coming to JCC.

“I am thrilled to be a part of the Johnston Community College family. The college is poised for growth and I am excited about my new role in that. I feel best about my work when I can see that it’s making a real difference in people’s lives and I believe that is happening here at JCC,” she says.

Pitts-Densmore is also an award-winning news documentarian and a member of the Public Relations Society of America. She currently sits on the Board for the North Carolina Chapter of PRSA as Awards Chair.

Pitts-Densmore resides in Raleigh with her husband, Shawn, and their son. She also holds a North Carolina Real Estate license. She is an alumna of the Delta Pi Chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority at her alma mater, Winthrop University.
