Stolen Dodge Charger Recovered Hours After Owner Reports Theft

SMITHFIELD, N.C. — A Smithfield man returned home after being away for a week to find his prized Dodge Charger Scat Pack missing.
The theft was reported July 20 after the 45-year-old victim discovered someone had stolen his 2023 Dodge Charger Scat Pack while he was away, according to the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies launched an investigation and, later the same day, located the vehicle on West Anderson Street in Selma with assistance from the Selma Police Department.
Authorities arrested Tracey Darnell Jackson Jr., 32, of Dunn, charging him with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The Dodge Charger was recovered and returned to its owner.
Investigators said a second suspect, a juvenile under the age of 18, is also under investigation for an alleged role in the theft. Charges in juvenile court are possible, according to the sheriff’s office.

This man was very fortunate to get this vehicle back considering it is one of the most highly targeted cars for car theft organizations and on top of that he was gone for a week. If the right people could have gotten this car he could have said “Goodbye” for good and “Hello” to some higher insurance payments for future cars. Good work to those who investigated and made an arrest in this case.
That’s just part of owning a scat pack! Lol they get stolen
