Johnston Community College Foundation Announces New Interim Executive Director

SMITHFIELD – The Johnston Community College Foundation (JCCF) has named Joy Callahan Interim Executive Director.

Callahan worked at Johnston Community College (JCC) as the Dean of Economic and Workforce Development until her retirement in 2021, when she started her own consulting company, Callahan Connections. Through her work with Johnston County Economic Development, Callahan has worked with JCC on numerous projects during the past few years.

“We are delighted to have Joy join us again until we name a permanent Executive Director of the Foundation. Her community connections and expertise will help JCC continue to grow with Johnston County,” says JCC President Dr. Vern Lindquist.

“We are also grateful to Dr. Twyla Wells for her long service to the College and the Foundation and wish her the best in her retirement,” Lindquist added.    

Callahan assumes the duties of her new role on April 10, 2023.
