Johnston County Arts Council Art and Food Festival

The Johnston County Arts Council will host its Seventh Annual Art and Food Festival Gala at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 17th at the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium located on the campus of Johnston Community College.

Daniel Evans, owner of Evan Jewelers in Smithfield gives Darlene Williford, Executive Director of JCAC the grand prize for the raffle event that will be held at the end of the event on March 17th. Mr. Evans has donated a necklace, geometric pendant fashioned out of 14kt yellow gold featuring 5 brilliant round cut (.20ctw) mounted in 14kt white gold with a 14kt yellow gold diamond cut open link cable chain valued at $1,200.

The fundraiser will generate monies to assist the Arts Council with funding for the 2016 Artists-in-the-Schools program, in providing a scholarship for Johnston Community College, and free community programming.

Tickets are $40 each or two for $75 and attendees will be treated to sample dishes from Johnston County’s finest restaurants. 

The results of the Johnston County Arts Council juried art show featuring local artists will also be announced at the Art and Food Festival.  Local artwork will be on display and available for purchase from Johnston County’s most talented visual artists. 

A silent auction featuring two collaborative paintings by  Johnston County artists  will be one of the highlights of the evening.

Music for the evening will be provided by Issac Bruton.
