North Carolina Coastal Pines has announced that Annah Lassiter of Four Oaks is a top seller in Johnston County for the 2015 Girl Scout Cookie Sale Program. Lassiter sold 1,270 boxes of Girl Scout cookies in the annual cookie sale that ended in March.
The overall top cookie seller was Charisma Parham of Leland, N.C., with 3,616 boxes of Girl Scout sold. Sierra Stefanelli of Aberdeen, N.C., placed second with 3,169 boxes sold and Xena Gray of Cary, N.C., placed third with 3,000 boxes sold.
“The Cookie program teaches Girl Scouts skills that will help them grow into leaders in their own life, leaders in business and leaders in the world,” said Lisa Jones, chief executive officer of Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines. “We are excited to honor and celebrate the leaders of this year’s cookie program.”
Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines sold over 3.1 million boxes of cookies with approximately 12,500 Girl Scouts participating in the 2015 Cookie Sale Program. Approximately 2,050 girls sold more than 400 boxes of cookies each. Additionally, 283 girls sold more than 1,000 boxes each. Council-wide the average number of boxes sold per girl was 248. Nationally the average number of boxes sold by Girl Scouts is 135.
The Girl Scout Cookie program helps to support girls in achieving the goals they set for program activities, community service projects and philanthropy, and ensure all girls are afforded access to the Girl Scout leadership program. For nearly 100 years, it has also helped girls develop essential skills they can use throughout their life.
“Not only are they having fun selling cookies, they are learning how to set and achieve goals, manage money, work as a team, make sound decisions and provide great customer service,” added Jones.
Joining Lassiter as top sellers in Johnston County are Courtney Christ, who placed second with 1,221 boxes sold and Jim-Mara Banks who placed third with 1,132 boxes sold.
The Girl Scouts organization works to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place. In addition to supporting their individual troops, all girls know that they are also supporting Girl Scouts – North Carolina Coastal Pines and its many programs for girls across it 41-county region in central and eastern North Carolina.
