Fire tore through a Johnston County home Tuesday morning, displacing 3 adults and an infant child.
The occupants were away from their Pope Road home, off Highway 222 East of Kenly, at the time but their three dogs died in the blaze. An outside cat is missing.
According to a neighbor, the home was at least 100 years old but had just recently been completely remodeled, including the installation of a new roof.
Kenly, Micro and Nahunta Fire departments responded to the 9:15am fire. Johnston County EMS stood by at the scene.
The American Red Cross provided aid to the victims.
There were no injuries.
Thank God the people that live there and the Fire Fighters are all ok. Sorry for the loss of the dogs.
