The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield is proud to announce the opening of our new Learning Lab on the first floor of the library. Located across from our Storytime Clubhouse, the Learning Lab houses a comprehensive collection of literacy learning materials. A SMART kapp iQ 55” Board is available in this room which functions both as an electronic whiteboard and a front-of-room display when attached to your personal laptop. An iPad and iPad mini are also available for use in the Lab. Open to all tutors and their students, the Learning Lab serves as our primary tutoring space for Triangle South Literacy Works (910-891-4111), a partner in this project.
The Learning Lab was made possible through grant funds from the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the State Library of North Carolina, a division of the Department of Natural and Cultural Resources.
